There are a few retailers that I recommend for the men shopping with style: Nordstroms, TopMan, Cotton-On, Frank & Oak, Zara, Jake Spade, and Marc Jacobs.
Lets start with the head appeal: Make sure you are always trimmed and groomed nicely. Beards are the new coco chanel for men’s style, but every lady likes when it’s maintained.
Everyday style: Since each day has new adventures and new people you may be meeting, always make an impression. Since a suite is a little much for an impression, always be prepared with some basic tees and button downs. Here are a few examples from Cotton-on (if you are on a college budget, you can get a few for a good price) and TopMan– which is a UK brand.
Be fun with your tees! I am not a fan of all graphic t shirts, but have you seen the Bill Murray Tee! Patterns are fun, just keep the colors neutral!
Business Casual Style: Women love a man who can clean up well, and let me you tell you, it makes an everlasting impression. Let’s be wise on what are the best way to keep it casual but clean. Shorts are not a bad idea with a blazer, but keep your inner Pharrell in mind. Colors are good, but make it only three colors: Two tones of one color and one accent exciting color.
Business Professional: For a full piece suit, there are several layers that are incorporated to complete a look: Undershirt, Crisp Button down, vest, *suspenders*, Tie/Bow Tie, Blazer. Depends on what part of the world you live on, keep the weather in mind. BUT let me explain on how attractive a WELL- FITTED Suit looks! “AHHH!” Just because you are able to buy a suit at H&M or Forever 21, keep the fit in mind.
Accessories for Style: Watches and Wallets! A man who has a few watches is a man of style. Because you are dressing up and down, you have to always have the perfect watch for day’s events. I love Flud Watches because there is style at a good price for different people. I only buy Flud watches for people who really deserve it. Also, another accessory a man needs is a wallet. Traditionally, men are suppose to buy dinner and snacks so they are using their wallet often. Be sure you are doing it with style because even if you have $100 in your credit card, she thinks you have more than that! Jake Spade has the best leather goods– they are spin off of Kate Spade, which is my go-to place for leather goods.
Ties: Ties are the expression with 12 inches of fabric, be sure you know how to tie your ties and chose the right colors with your suit. Ties are only for formal or semi formal events. Marc Jacobs always has great ties for the season!
Plaid: When summer begins to change into fall, it’s always nice to have a plaid shirt to throw on. Since there a fine line with how plaid can be worn, color and pattern alignment are important.
From Head to Toe: SHOES SHOES SHOES!!! Jordans are not an expression of style (I am sure I will get some hate mail on that comment) but let’s be real! Oxfords and formal footwear is important! Plus you get to have a peek of fun socks! A great place to get formal shoes are going to be at Zara and Nordstroms. Of course you have to dress down, keep the in the realm of tennis shoes *CLEAN!
